7 quick tips for improving yourself

To be happier in life, it’s good to try and improve ourselves.  It should help us to be able to achieve much better results in all areas of our life. So here’s some self-improvement tips to help kick start your personal growth and be happier.

1. Write plans and goals

This is a very important habit to get into to accomplish things. Writing down the goals makes them clearer in your head, and starts to build an expectation that they are actually going to happen, which in itself makes them far more likely to happen. It’s good to have long term plans and goals but also to have short-term plans of action which will take you to a certain point on that path to the long-term goal. Otherwise the long-term goal can just seem too remote. It’s also rewarding to be able to tick off things that you have done on your list and makes you feel good about yourself.

2. Expect to Win

So what separates the people who achieve great things in life from those who don’t? Well, one of the most important things is that people who succeed EXPECT to succeed, they have great confidence that is going to happen. Perseverance is also needed but those who expect to succeed are far less likely to give up, because they feel confident that they will get there eventually. Those who don’t feel confident or expect to win are much more likely to give up. After that, it’s a case of persevering at whatever they are trying to succeed at.

3. Write a Journal/Diary

Many of the great achievers in the world are keen writers. Keeping a journal/diary helps you to clarify your thoughts. It also gives you self-awareness of where you are going with your life.

4. Meditate

Meditation is a great way to reduce stress, because it clears away all the thoughts from your mind that are causing you to worry or be anxious about something. It also has physical benefits, including slowing down your heart rate and regulating your digestion.

It is also very useful for helping you to sleep better, lack of sleep is one of the major causes of unhappiness as anyone with sleep problems knows.

5. Be a well-rounded person.

The whole of your life is interconnected, so if one area is in trouble then it will affect the others. If you are having relationship problems, it could affect your health for instance, or your job. Or if your health is bad, you may find it hard to have the energy to achieve your goals. So try to live a well-balanced life and keep all areas of your life as strong as they possibly can be.

6. Positive Affirmations

The point of positive affirmations is to try and program your brain to think in a certain way, a positive way. One way to do this is to write down a positive affirmation for each of the key areas in your life (relationships, health, finances and career) and to speak them out loud every day. 7. Share your experience with others

It can really help your personal growth to share with others what you are learning. It will make your understanding of the path you are taking clearer. You could either do this with friends and family or write down your experiences in a blog or just for yourself.
